Scope
This policy describes ATOM Technology’s (“ATOM”, “we”, “us”) handling of personal data through www.atomtechnology.com.hk and email enquiries initiated from the website. Data processing within client projects must be addressed separately in the relevant service agreement and project requirements.
Information you provide and why
When you email us, we may receive your name, company, email address, other contact details you choose to supply and project information. We use these to answer enquiries, understand requirements, prepare quotations and follow up the related discussion. Providing information is voluntary; without valid contact details or essential project information, we may be unable to respond or assess your request. Please avoid unnecessary sensitive information or unauthorised third-party data.
How the current forms work
The homepage enquiry feature opens your email application and prefills a message on your device. Its current implementation does not submit form contents to the WordPress database. We receive the message only when you send it; your email service is also governed by its provider’s privacy policy. The online quotation flow is currently a browser-based demonstration and does not send entered information to ATOM. We will update collection notices and this policy before enabling actual submission or storage.
Technical records and cookies
The website and supporting services may process IP addresses, browser details, request times and access records to deliver connections, manage sign-ins or address security incidents. WordPress administrator sign-in uses related cookies. Browser settings let you manage cookies; disabling some may affect functions such as sign-in. We do not currently use Google Analytics or Meta Pixel on this website to track visitors. Hosting or network services may keep technical records. We will update this policy and applicable choice mechanisms before introducing analytics or advertising tools.
Recipients and security
Information may be handled as needed by authorised ATOM personnel and providers supporting hosting, email, technical maintenance or professional services. Disclosure may also be required by applicable law. These services may involve processing outside Hong Kong, depending on the hosting and email services used. We will address such arrangements in accordance with applicable requirements. We apply reasonable security and access controls proportionate to the risks involved; internet transmission and storage cannot be guaranteed completely secure.
Retention and direct marketing
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the collection purpose and directly related uses, taking applicable legal, accounting and dispute-handling needs into account, then securely deleted or anonymised. Retention needs are reviewed by reference to the type of record, enquiry progress, contractual obligations and applicable requirements. An enquiry does not constitute consent to all promotions. Before any future use of personal data for direct marketing, we will satisfy applicable notice and consent or indication-of-no-objection requirements and provide an opt-out.
Access, correction and privacy enquiries
To request access to or correction of personal data we hold, or to raise a privacy enquiry, email info@atomtechnology.com.hk and address it to the person responsible for personal data access and correction. Reasonable identity verification may be required. Applicable requests will be handled in accordance with Hong Kong’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. You may also use that email address to request contact details for handling your request.
Updates and external services
This policy may be updated as website functions and data practices change, with a revised date shown. External websites and services you independently choose are governed by their own policies.
