Mobile App or Web System? Start with the Use Case

Consider users and frequency

A browser-based system may suit occasional information searches, form submissions or management tasks. Consider an app where there is a continuing mobile workflow or device integration requirement.

List the functions you actually need

Notifications, cameras, location, offline use and device integration need practical assessment. Web and app capabilities differ across platforms, so a feature name alone is not enough to choose an approach.

Include the backend and data workflow

The visible interface is only part of the project. Plan how data is added, who may edit it, what reporting is needed and whether existing systems must be integrated.

Start with the core workflow

Define the most important user journey and first-phase functions. Consider budget, maintenance, platform distribution and future expansion together when choosing the development approach.
